I Carry Your Heart With Me

i carry it in my heart

i am never without it

anywhere i go you go,my dear;

and whatever is done by only me is your doing,my darling
i fear no fate for you are my fate,my sweet

i want no world for beautiful you are my world,

my true and it's you are whatever a moon has always meant
and whatever a sun will always sing is you
here is the deepest secret nobody knows
here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud
and the sky of the sky of a tree called life;

which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide
and this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart

i carry your heart

i carry it in my heart

By E E Cummings

Wouldn't this be a nice thing to hear from someone that loves you? Even if you don't hear this I hope you feel it when you find someone that has the courage and strength to show you their love for you.

It would be nice! In response to your question, my mom and I are close. Plus, tell her would give me such freedom. Everyone else becomes less important.

Truthfully, not really, it's too intense. To me this poem sounds like icon, put on a pedestal, co-dependancy love. Which is good when things are going well, but when the other person realizes that you are not a god and just a human being with ordinary flaws then the loss of that love can be devastating.

I would actually prefer someone to say the beginning of the Robert Browning poem to me.

GROW old along with me!
The best is yet to be,
The last of life, for which the first was made:

That tells me that that there is a journey of discovery that we both should go on together and learn cause it's only gonna get better.

But that's just me. Other people will be turned on by whatever they are turned on by and I would still honor them.

Curious..don't be so hard. To me it just means that one is important and cherished. No one can actually be all that this poem says. It's just a flowerly way of saying it. :-)

I didn't mean to sound harsh. Poetry is not my thing so anything more than 5 lines and I start to get confused.

I'm sure it's a really good piece, after all it was written by one of the greats and I'm even more pleased if someone finds comfort from reading it.

Anything that someone can relate to is always good thing. Eww, now I sound like Martha Stewart.

It is so nice to hear... It's such a heartfelt poem. I read it and said to myself, I am so taking this poem! lol

In reference to your question: Yes it would be very nice to have someone utter these words to me and mean it, but what are the odds of someone actually feeling this dependant upon my heart/love.

The poem is good it has much flava and it warrants some dep thinking.

I especially like the security in the phrase "I fear no fate for you are my fate." That's beautiful.
